So I've been trying out the new Star Wars Hunters game that came out on Mobile & Switch recently!
I haven't played many brawling type games like this so I wasn't expecting much, but I've actually been really enjoying it so far! I've probably put too many hours into playing (especially since I was super sick around launch and didn't have much else I could do), and I hit max level 50 and Kyber in ranked a while ago... (yeah, playing too much, I know...)
Thought I'd share my initial thoughts though, since I've put in the time!
Note: Some folks have apparently been playing the beta version for a while, but I've only started playing since the public release.
Stuff I like about it so far:
-The really creative and fun SW universe characters is the best part. A blind Miraluka sniper? (Diago) An Ugnaught driving a Droideka? (Slingshot) Literally two Jawas in a trench coat??? (Utooni) They're fun and have great personality, you can read their blurbs here. I like how they're all voiced and also all have their own theme songs (which are honestly heckin catchy)!
-Controls are very intuitive. Again, I am not much of a gamer and have very little experience with these kinds of games, but I picked it up quick. I play on my iPhone and it's great.
-The graphics are GORGEOUS. It looks beautiful, everything moves stunningly smoothly. Honestly it's hard to believe this is a ftp game.
-So far it's very much ftp friendly! Most of the money locked stuff are just cosmetics, and even then there are tons of free ones. One of the characters, Aran Tal, is currently behind a not-too-expensive paywall, but he'll apparently be available for free soon as well.
-The skins for the characters are fun and creative! Imara Vex has one that looks like Durge, and Zaina has one that kinda gives me adult Omega vibes. The store has an active rotation of skins that you can buy with either irl money or in game currency, and apparently old event skins eventually end up in the circulation too. Here are just a couple of my favorites:
-I love the locations! Each one is very Star Wars vibes and has lots of cool lil in-universe elements, like pod racers going through Mos Espa (they can run you over). The time period is New Republic era, so everything is relatively plausible for that time period in universe.
-There's a bunch of different game types, so you don't get bored, and they each have different challenges, and different characters who shine in them. It's unfortunately a bit addicting.
-The events aren't too grindy or tedious (so far).
-I really appreciate the different modes you can play on! The main two modes are casual and ranked, so it's possible to play low stakes and just level up your characters in casual, or try to challenge yourself more in ranked. I appreciate how the limited time events that sometimes throw you into random characters you might not be experienced with are never ranked, so it's okay to suck. Character leveling is the same in both casual and ranked. And I appreciate the Training mode too, where you can try out all of the characters so you're never in a "wtf does this do" in a PVP environment. I get so anxious during PVP if I don't know what I'm doing.
Stuff I hope they improve on:
-Playing with people + party invites are kind of a pain. The invites disappear really quickly, so it's really hard to time it so you can actually play with your friends. It's also hard to know whether the party is going to be playing ranked or casual, and if ranked you can't see the ranks of the folks in your party before agreeing to join, which is a little nerve wracking.
-This is less a complaint, and more just general frustration, but ranking up is pretty tedious near the top, which is to be expected I suppose. Through Aurodium, it was generous because you earn so many more points when you win than when you lose, but in Kyber, you win/lose the same amount. You are judged by your team score, so losses bring down everyone's rank, and it feels like you have to take three steps back for every one. Kyber players are comparatively more competent, but I've been in some...unfortunate matchups before. (As of writing this, I'm in Kyber III, but I've been bouncing between Beskar II~Kyber II for the past two weeks...will I ever make it to Kyber I cries)
-I think they started with a decent batch of characters, and I know this game just came out of beta and the team said they'll be expanding on them! So this isn't really a complaint either. But in the future, I hope they add more female characters (currently only 4 female characters out of 13 total, which feels a little skewed), as well as more support characters, who always feel lacking.
I'd love a few more "popular" iconic Star Wars species to have characters in support. Maybe a Togruta apothecary? A Nautolan water medic? A Pantoran doctor? And personally, I'd love a super buff Twi'lek lady as a tank! Either way, lots of possibilities to look forward to, especially given how much I love the characters so far!
So far, I've been playing on my iPhone and it works pretty smoothly, though I've heard of some Switch users having trouble with lagging/connecting. I think I've only been booted out once, and even when I'm forced to pop out of the app for a moment (last night, I got an Amber alert that paused my screen), I was able to continue playing with barely any pause, which is honesty impressive. I've heard controls are easier on Switch, but I think I've been doing okay on mobile.
Have you tried this game out??
Here's the launch trailer if you're interested, it's Pretty:
youtube
And a self plug!
Feel free to add me, I'm Akaz!
I main Skora (Rodian support) and prefer to play her in ranked, but also have Aran Tal (Mando, he's my baby boi), Sentinel (Stormtrooper tank), and Diago (Miraluka sniper) also at max level. Working on leveling up the others in casual mode!
I'm very happy to play casual mode with anyone! (and I play casual mode a lot to level up my less-used characters, and recommend spending some time there for new folks before diving into ranked)
I'm also happy to play ranked!
(but be warned, you'll kinda want to know what you're doing, or they will slaughter you in Kyber)
I might type up a follow up review giving my thoughts on each individual character and maybe some general tips idk

You will be my world.
James Potter x Fem!Reader
Summary: James Potter never liked how the Autumn made everything seems so unsightly and boresome. That was until you steal his heart and make him change his mind about the autumn.
Word Count: 1.8k
Warnings: none, just tooth-rotting fluff. A slight mention of the first wizarding war, maybe?
A/N: Actually, my favourite season is spring, but I love the song ''we fell in love in october'' and I just couldn't stop myself from writing this.
James Potter hated autumn.
He loved summer because he could feel the sun kissing his skin and making him feel alive. Spring was the perfect time for him to gift his mom flowers and watch nature's beautiful cycle where animals found their mates. Winter was synonymous with Christmas (James' favourite holiday) and it was when he could play with his parents in the snow.
Autumn was just three months of sheer boredom. Nothing special happened in the Autumn. Everything was so… unsightly.
That was until he met you.
It was the middle of October and James' least favourite season was in full swing. Most of his neighbours were adults without children, leaving him with no one to play with for nine years, but that all changed that year when a moving truck pulled up in front of the house next to his with a car right behind. A couple got out of the car with a… Child.
A child his age.
James immediately turned away from the window and was already pulling on his coat to leave the house to greet you when Fleamont Potter stopped him.
''We live in a Muggle neighbourhood, Jamie, and you still don't know how to control your magic very well. I'll invite them to afternoon tea and we'll find out if they're wizards.''
Thank Merlin they were.
The L/Ns were a Muggle-born couple who met through their work at the Ministry of Magic. Their only child, Y/n, had inherited her parents' magic.
They were a very likeable couple and Fleamont and Euphemia quickly made friends with them.
''It's not dark yet, you could go out and play.'' Mrs L/n suggested.
Of course, James was over the moon to finally have someone to play with, but he felt uncomfortable being alone with you because so far you both only exchanged a ''Hi''.
The square that was a few meters from James' house was pretty empty at this time of day. You noticed that, so you suggested the two of you go over there. James happily agreed, but as soon as you turned your back to go down to the square, James scowled. He never went to the square in autumn precisely because everything was ugly. But he agreed because he wanted to please you so that you would like him and become friends with him.
Apparently, you didn't mind the dead look of the leaves on the trees. On the contrary, you seemed to be… Delighted with them.
''There are so many leaves on the ground! We can make piles of leaves to jump on!'' You suggested excitedly.
The idea didn't seem too unpleasant, so James nodded.
He never knew jumping in piles of autumn leaves could be so much fun.
The feeling of jumping on top of the leaves to feel their slightly hard texture, but not to the point of being uncomfortable, was strangely cool. For some reason, you two couldn't stop laughing and the banter went on for hours but you both could have sworn you were only playing for a few minutes.
When the two of you finally collapsed from exhaustion onto the floor, still giggling like the kids you were, you started moving your arms and legs. James watched you in confusion until he realized you were making an angel out of autumn leaves. He had never seen anything like that, but it looked fun and he decided to imitate you.
''Your angel looks great, Jamie!'' You smiled at him as you two finished your autumn leaves angels.
Tiredness had made your face redder and despite the slightly chilly temperature, there was a little sweat on your skin. your eyes were bright with teasing and your smile was so beautiful that James smiled back without even realizing it.
He hadn't realized what a pretty girl you were until that moment, and he felt like an idiot for feeling his cheeks and the tips of his ears heat up.
The moment was interrupted by James' mother, who said that it was time for you both to go home and that there would be plenty of time to play tomorrow.
James couldn't wait.
***
He had been looking for you all afternoon.
Until he finally remembered about your favourite tree and James felt stupid for not thinking of it sooner.
There you were, exactly where he'd assumed you would be, sitting against the big oak tree at the back of Hogwarts grounds reading a book.
''This one is new, isn't it?'' James asked, moving closer to you.
At age 13, you were both in the growing-up phase. This meant that James was a lot shorter than you and you never stopped teasing him about it.
''Yes Jamie, I started this one today because I finally finished Animal Farm yesterday.'' You replied, patting the space beside you on the floor for James to sit down.
''What is your new book about?'' He questioned as he rested his head on your shoulder.
He let you talk animatedly about your book while he was lost in thought without you noticing. He admired the orange and red tones of the leaves of the trees that made a strange but beautiful combination. He closed his eyes for a few seconds to feel the wind ruffling his hair even more and letting the slight chill envelop his soul. All this while he enjoyed the sound of his favourite person's voice.
You've been inseparable since that day in 1969. You played together daily. Your families travelled together and you studied at Hogwarts together. You were his best friend and he could never thank you enough for coming into his life and making everything more colourful.
But last week, he overheard a conversation between Dorcas and Marlene (He knew it was wrong to listen to other people's conversations, but the topic really caught his attention).
Dorcas spoke passionately about soulmates. How two people were born to meet and complete each other. How a soulmate could make you see the world more beautiful and make your heart feel at peace just being close to your soulmate. Soulmates could live a thousand lives without forgetting the comfort and love that the other made them feel.
It was then that James Potter knew.
You were his soulmate.
But he was too embarrassed to tell you. He wanted you to think he was cool, just like Peter, Sirius and Remus did.
Maybe you would think he was silly for being so sensitive when it came to you.
But one day he would tell you. You were his safe haven and damn him if he never told you that.
***
A war was approaching.
Very soon, a threat would come to terrorize the wizarding world and James feared for everything he loved daily.
His life, because James had dreams and plans and he wanted to try harder every day to be a better person.
His parents, who always had only given the best for James and provided him with a wonderful childhood that he would always be grateful for.
His friends, who stood by him in the good times and made him come to his senses when he was acting like an idiot. Who made him smile and taught him a lot about life.
You.
He didn't want to think about it too much.
Due to the thousands of thoughts plaguing him, James had been having trouble sleeping properly. Usually, he admired the stars in the astronomy tower, but today he decided to take a different route.
Just to end up finding you.
He knew how the threat to the Muggle-borns lives was being very difficult for you. And despite knowing how strong you were, he desperately wanted to take you in his arms and protect you from the cruel world that didn't understand that you were an extraordinary person who was so much more than a ridiculous blood status.
''Couldn't sleep either, Y/n/n?'' He asked quietly so as not to startle you.
You took a deep breath before answering.
''No, Jamie. I wasn't able to.''
You were sitting on a small hill, which was covered with orange leaves. You repeated your habit of patting the vacant space beside you and James sat down next to you.
''You know I'm going to die before I let anything happen to you or your parents, right?'' He stared at you, his face as serious as ever.
''Don't say that. Please… Don't say that.'' You started to cry.
James pulled you closer and you immediately buried your face in your best friend's chest and wrapped your arms around him.
He rested his chin on your head and stroked your back, letting you get it all out.
When you finally calmed down and pulled back a little (Just enough to look him in the eyes. You weren't quite ready to leave James' arms) before muttering.
''Thank you for always being there for me, Jamie. You're the best.''
Suddenly, the handsome boy with glasses grinned devilishly before attacking you with tickles.
That was a terrible habit he always had. From childhood, he would start tickling you whenever you were feeling down. He had learned to control himself over the years, but that bizarre nature of James was still there.
You immediately broke free of his grasp and started running while laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation. James was laughing like crazy as he chased you and unfortunately you didn't stand a chance against him. Now you were both adults and James was much taller and stronger than you.
James threw himself at you, but you tripped and that's how you both ended up on the floor. Your chests pressed against each other and his lips were just inches from yours.
''Y/n/n… Can I kiss you?'' He asked with something glinting in his eyes.
You were completely frozen by the wonderful and at the same time torturous closeness because it still wasn't enough. His hazel eyes has always been your weakness and you could spend eternity admiring James Potter. But a few seconds later, you finally processed the words of his question and responded by pulling him by the back of his neck so that his lips finely met his.
***
If James had told his version of 10 years ago that his favourite season was autumn, little James would have laughed in his face.
But that was an undeniable truth.
He met you in an autumn, fell in love with you in an autumn, finally got to love you in an autumn, and now he was making you his wife.
In an autumn.
Despite all the devastation the war was causing, he found peace and genuine joy today. Watching you walk down the aisle in a beautiful white dress, looking like an angel, while promising to spend the rest of your life with him.
James Potter loved autumn.
And he could never thank you enough for that.

the marvel heroes are personifications of the song "stick to the status quo" from high school musical except they ACTUALLY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE HEROES
every popular marvel movie/show (avengers, black panther, avengers age of ultron, falcon and the winter soldier, daredevil, avengers infinity war, captain america winter soldier, spiderman homecoming, just to name a few) has the villain as the character that wants to facilitate change. often in a way that has the viewer agreeing with the villian. until the villain commits mass murder for seemingly no reason, and this allows the hero to show that the moral of the movie is 'change is bad' and change can only be achieved by commiting horrible attrocities, so its best to just keep things as they are.
this should not be surprising considering who makes and produces movies. people who produce and show movies are the people at the top of the food chain. they obviously dont want things to change, because from their perspective there is not enough wrong with the world that it needs to change. we, the viewer of these movies, should know better. our lives would greatly benefit from changes to the system (particularly the capitalist system that is making the producers of these movies so content and rich). the producers of these movies are trying to influence us into no longer wishing for the change that would make our lives easier, because it would make their lives slightly less privileged.
the line "it is better by far keeping things as they are" from high school musicals 'stick to the status quo' comes to mind. the key difference being, of course, that this is a line showing the main villain (sharpay's) point of view, whereas in the mcu this would be the belief of the heroes, the belief of the avengers.
the only exception to this, at least that i can think of, is the tv series loki. the tv series loki is the only marvel story i am aware of where the hero of the story is actively trying to dismantle the systems in place and create a better one. it makes sense with the mcu's history, then, that this is the only story where the main hero was formerly a villain. and this story, while it does end with loki successfully dismantling the broken system and creating a better world, does not exactly end happily. this story ends with our main hero, loki, doomed to sit at the end of time for all of eternity to prevent every existing timeline from collapsing. if this was viewed in a vaccum, it would be an intriguing, heart wrenching ending. when its viewed in conjunction with the rest of the mcu, it almost seems like they said okay. you can have a systemic change. but you have to pay the price. you cannot just have a systemic change for the better, it has to be shown that change is always at least a little bit bad. and mostly, change is always bad for the driving force behind it (in this case, loki). the main person precipitating systemic change is never allowed to get a happy ending in the mcu.
later in the song 'stick to the status quo' sharpay and her brother (the villains, to reiterate) say "and we gotta get things back where they belong" this is clearly viewed as the villainous statement. people in the lunch room (where this song takes place) are incredibly happy about the changes taking place, and are relishing in their newfound freedom. in any mcu story (apart from loki) this would be a stubborn statement from captain america, or whoever the main hero is of that story. high school musical understood that change is necessary to increase freedom, but the mcu pushes the narrative that change can only occur at great cost to innocent life (or the cost of the hero's happy ending)
i was inspired to make this post by this video, you should definitely all go watch it if you were even a little intrigued by this post (it doesnt have any of the random high school musical references and the mcu points are much more articulately communicated)

Love at the Top Part 1
A knock raps on my door promptly at noon. I open it with a smile, my dress swishing around me as Ben stands there, mouth slightly agape behind the flowers he has in his hand.
"Y-you… you l-look amazing."
I smile, swaying my hips side to side. "Thanks. Are those for me?"
"Oh, yeah. I wasn't sure what your favorite was so I got one of each."
The bouquet held about 12 flowers, each one a different kind. It was bright and beautiful, bring life into the room when I placed them in a vase on my table.
"They're beautiful, Ben. Thank you."
He wipes his palms against his pants before putting them in his pockets. "You ready? We have an hour drive or so."
"You never told me where…wait. Does your tie have a Gatsby quote on it?" I walk up to him, picking up the end of the tie and looking at it.
"Oh, uh yeah. You said it was your favorite…" His voice trails off as he shrugs.
I look up at him, big brown eyes looking at me like I'm the only thing in the room. I tug it to pull him down and kiss him, arms sliding around each other. Suddenly he breaks the kiss, staring down at me.
"We better get in the car or we'll never make it."
"Would that be such a bad thing?"
He groans in the back of his throat. "No. But I really think you'll like it."
"And I wouldn't like you?"
He chuckles. "I hope you will, sweet girl."
"You're gonna have to stop calling me that if you want us to leave."
He smiles. "That's fair."
He takes my hand and leads me out of the door, pausing as I lock it behind me. We drive for about an hour, chatting about anything and everything along the way, having concerts with the good songs that come on. It's only when he turns into the parking lot that I realize where he's taken me.
"The Gatsby manuscript??" I all but yell, neatly vibrating off my seat as I stare out the window at the museum. "How did you know I've been dying to see them?"
"You mentioned it a month or so ago."
I turn to look at him. "A month? And you remembered?"
He smiles and nods at me. "Of course. Your eyes light up when you talk about it."
I lean in and kiss him, my hand rubbing at the stubble on his cheek. "How did you score tickets? They've been sold out for a while."
"The curator is my cousin."
"Seriously?"
"Yup."
"That's so fucking cool."
He escorts me out and into the museum, watching my face nearly the entire time, letting me ramble on and on about how much I love The Great Gatsby and how amazing it is to see it first hand, actually handwritten notes by the author himself.
He smiles the whole ride back to town as I continue to talk, the conversation eventually shifting to Star Wars as we sit down to eat. Conversation flows easy between us, no matter what we're talking about.
Eventually, we end up on my doorstep, both of us shuffling nervously and chattering on, unwilling to let the evening end.
"I had a great time, Ben."
"Me too. I didn't think you'd get along with an old man like me."
"I thought we agreed you aren't old?"
"No, you said I wasn't old. My back begs to differ."
"Hhmm…" I fiddle with his tie. "Sounds like you need to go to bed."
"Y-Yeah. That might help."
He kisses me, pushing me back against my front door. I hitch my leg over his thigh, pulling him closer, both our hands tangled in the other's hair.
"I have a bed inside you can use."
His eyes darken as he stares down at me. "Are you sure?"
"I've never been more sure of anything in my life."
I fish out my keys, trying to unlock my door but finding it hard to focus with Ben's hands on my hips, rubbing little circles into them.
Finally, my door unlocks and I push it open, turning to grab onto Ben's tie, pulling him inside, giggling when he kicks the door shut behind him. I reach behind him to lock it, gasping when Ben starts sucking on my neck.
"Ben," I sigh, feeling him shift and moan into my neck.
His lips move to mine and we start to walk, me guiding us towards my bedroom. But several steps later, Ben trips and we fall and he lands on top of me.
"Fuck I'm sorry! Are you-"
I pull his face to mine, kissing the apology from his lips, my legs parting to pull him in closer and I can feel him through his pants.
"Here?" He breaks the kiss, staring down at me, our noses barely touching.
"I don't care where, Ben. I need you. Now." I grip the back of his shirt, trying to untuck it from his pants.
"I.. yeah ok."
I look at him this time. "Is that ok?"
"I.. yeah."
I push him up slightly, getting him to meet my eyes. "What is it?"
He blushes slightly, looking away from my gaze. "I just…"
"Are your knees ok? Your back?"
"What? Oh yeah I'm ok."
"Then what?"
He quiet a moment. "I've never done…this… on a floor before."
Oh.
I smile and trace his cheek with my fingertip. "That's ok, Ben. Do you want to?"
His clothed hips rut into mine in response and I whine, watching him smirk down at me. "I want you, sweet girl."
"Then take me. Please."
His eyes darken, blowing wide with lust before he kisses me. One of his arms braces him on the ground while the other moves down my body, sliding up my bare thigh as he pushes my dress up. He hesitates at my panties but when I moan, he gains some courage, hooking his fingers around the band and sliding them down. His hand comes back up my body, his finger teasing me between my thighs. Finally he touches me and my hips jolt at the connection.
"Oh fuck," I pant, as his fingers explore my apex.
"I gotta work you open, sweet girl. Get you ready for me. Is that ok?"
I nod several times quickly, pleading for him to do more. He wastes no time in pushing a finger inside me, twirling his finger around until I jolted. He adds another finger and finds that spot again, curling his fingers against it.
"Here?" He asks, studying my face.
"Oh fuck yes!" His thumb comes up to rub at my clit and I'm done for, too wound up to wait and I whine his name, gripping his arms as I find my release.
"You make the sweetest sounds when you come."
I chuckle. "I usually don't come that fast even when I'm solo."
His eyes snap to mine. "When..when y-you're solo?"
"Yes, Ben. People masterbate."
His voice is quiet and a few octaves lower. "Will you show me sometime?"
"I can show you now-"
He grabs the wrist I had started to slide down my body. "No. Now, I need you. If that's ok?"
"God, please."
He lifts himself slightly off of me and I fumble with his belt, quickly opening it and reaching my hand inside to grip him. He grunts, a series of swears tumble from him as I pull him out. He's big, bigger than I've had. No wonder he had to work me open - I can't barely close my fingers around him. I line him up with me and I feel him at my entrance, just touching me and heat rushes to my cunt. But he doesn't move.
"Ben?"
"Do you have a condom?"
"I uh, oh. No. But we discussed being clean-"
"That's not what I'm worried about."
"I'm protected. It's safe. If you want."
There's no more color in his eyes, dark and black with lust. "Oh God I want to. If that's-"
"Stop asking if every move is ok. All of it is. You have my consent to fuck me however you want. If something is wrong I'll tell you. Just please, Ben. I need you to move."
He catches my gaze and then slowly pushes inside of me. I can feel my skin stretching to accommodate his size, burning slightly at the edges but it's a good feeling. He pauses halfway and looks at me.
"Are you ok?"
"Y-yeah. You're just…the biggest I've ever had."
"Do you want me to stop?"
"If you stop, I'm going to fling myself out of the window."
He chuckles. "We can't have that."
My reply dies on my lips as he pushes in the rest of the way, stretching and filling me. I don't remember ever feeling this full before, and oh shit what is he hitting inside me?
Ben pulls his hips back and slides into me again, slowly still. I hitch my thigh over his hip and he grabs it to hold my leg in place. He adds an extra thrust when he bottoms out and I cry his name, stars erupting in my vision as heat rushes between my thighs. Ben is hesitant, as if he can't read my expression. Or he doubts himself.
"There! Fuck, Ben. What are you- ugh!" He pushes in again, picking up his pace and slamming into that spot over and over, my next orgasm building quickly with each thrust. He slows down, only to bring a hand up, trying to lift my dress up over my chest. He's struggling, so I reach my hands up, sliding down the straps and pulling down the top of my dress. Thankful I wore a front clasping bra, I quickly undo it, boobs springing free. His hips falter as he stares at my chest.
He drops his head to my chest, taking a boob in his mouth, biting at my nipple. His hips resume rutting into me and my release washes over me, warmth spreading out from between my thighs as I cry his name, Ben still moving his hips and hitting that spot to drag out my release.
"I'm gonna…" Ben tries to speak but then his hips sputter, thrusting up several more times into me, quiet moans and gasps leaving his lips as he comes inside of me. Breathing heavy, we lay there still connected for a few moments, just trying to catch our breath. Ben lifts his head from my chest and stares down at me, the lust receding and being replaced by something more like…love?
"Fuck you're so beautiful."
"So are you, Ben."
He scoffs. "I'm an old man."
"An old man who just fucked me into this floor."
He smirks, unable to hide the pride on his face. "That's true. But I'm sure you've done this before, with your young back and all."
"No one has ever fucked me like that, Ben. I've never…I've never came like that before."
His eyebrows knit together. "What?"
"It's like you were hitting some spot in the back of me. Like..at the far back-"
He nods. "I think that's called your a spot?"
"WE HAVE ANOTHER SPOT? MY EDUCATION HAS FAILED ME."
Ben cracks up, his laughter shaking my body as I join him too, stopping when he hisses.
"Stop laughing! Hold on." He pulls out and then resumes laughing with me.
Ben helps me straighten my dress and stand up, pulling me close to his body and kissing me.
"You ok?"
"I am. But next time let's be in a bed. I may be 24 but this floor is still hard."
His eyes darken. "Next time?"
"Yeah. If you want?"
"As long as you'll have me. I'm free tomorrow for dinner?"
"Dinner? I was thinking in another 10 minutes."
He chuckles. "I'm an old man, sweet girl. I don't think my knees can do that again so soon."
"Who says you'll be on top?"

For the record here are my other Undersider drunken karaoke night picks I think about this situation a normal amount (lie)
Round 1 - No One Has Added Underage Drinking To Their Daily Crime Journal Yet
Lisa - Lisa starts everyone off with California Girls because she is, in her heart, A California Girl She's Undeniable Daisy Dukes Bikinis on Top. Lisa is probably the closest thing the Undersiders have to a good singer but she's totally hamming it up here to break the ice in hopes Taylor will participate
Aisha - Every single Rihanna album has gone platinum in Aisha Laborn's bedroom and she will take any opportunity to make this fact known. I think she would pick Only Girl In The World because Aisha really feels like Rihanna made that one just for her specifically. Not a singer with technical expertise but she brings the most passion and joy to her performances
Brian - As stated in an earlier post he picks Bruno Mars Beautiful Girls All Over The World, possibly Just The Way You Are. He did not pick them to serenade Taylor specifically but at one point he does make eye contact with Taylor during the chorus and it embarrasses them both. Aisha pretends to vomit.
Alec - picks the exact same song as Brian and does it worse in every way. Intentionally makes eye contact with each of the Undersiders making sure to really draw out Brian's turn
Taylor - Peer pressured enough to participate but not enough to choose a song she actually likes and listens to in fear of being judged. She performs Fireflies by Owl City with real fireflies and it's equal parts charming and horrifying. Lisa cheers too loudly and Alec hides behind Brian and Rachel from the bugs. Taylor vows to never perform at karaoke again
Rachel - refuses to participate
Round 2 - Everyone is Slightly Tipsy
Lisa - Lisa performs Girls Just Want To Have Fun and gets really into it. She only hits half of the high notes but she tries really hard to hit all of them. It's the closest thing to an impressive performance any of them achieve all night
Brian - cuts in front of Aisha to perform Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Performs all nine minutes even while Aisha boos him and also sings the guitar solos. Experiences joy and whimsy for the first time in months
Aisha - Don't Trust Me by 3OH3. While singing the line "I'm a vegetarian and I ain't fucking scared of him" she gets too excited and flings a bracelet off knocking a glass off a table and shattering it. This does not slow her performance for even a second
Alec - Friday by Rebecca Black. Very pleased with the negative reaction this inspires. Aisha tries to chase him off the stage and the latter half of the song is just them wrestling for the microphone
Taylor and Rachel decline to participate and instead sit in the corner and whisper gay things the whole round
Round 3 - Completely Lost In The Sauce Wasted
Lisa - Incredibly Solemn and Serious rendition of Video Games by Lana Del Rey. Alec dims the lights and everyone sans Rachel wave their cellphone flashlights for her
Alec - Alec has spent the entire night lying and telling Aisha he can sing all the words to Rap God by Eminem. He messes up the words in the first verse immediately. Laughs through the rest of the performance and accidentally makes up a new word that becomes he and Aisha's new terrible "inside joke" they insist on saying every five minutes for the next month
Brian - Low by Flo Rida. Does a whole dance routine to go along with it. Everyone except Aisha has a GREAT time
Aisha - Super Bass by Nicki Minaj. High off the excitement of his last performance Brian performs along and completely steals the show. This leads to the first bout of drunken crying (Aisha. Immediately followed by Brian) followed by drunken declarations of love and affirmation
Eventually the affirmations lead to Taylor agreeing to singing one more song so long as every Undersider individually promises her they won't make fun of her. She picks This Is War by Thirty Seconds to Mars because she is a terrible angsty teenager in 2011 and she sings it very badly. Everyone stills cheers for her though and it is a very good finale
On the way home they get Rachel to agree to do the barks if the rest of them sing Who Let The Dogs Out acapella. This footage is captured by street cams and the footage of the teenage warlords walking down the street barking is presented as a "twisted intimidation tactic" by the PRT for the next three years
#wormblr#ill main tag this because i believe in my heart that this is a good and true post#sven if no one else does 🖤

Hiiiii, how are you doing ?? Good I hope 😊
I wanna start watching animes but I don’t know anything about it so could you recommend me some of your favorites if it isn’t a bother ?
Honestly? I’m going back to school on August 19th and I’m like terrified. It’s been like 4 years since I graduated from college 😅 Plus everybody I spoke to said the first 4 months is nothing but studying all day long. Like you can't even get a part-time job with how much material you'll be learning. So I'm a bit anxious about that...
But it's okay! Anime is my destresser and my list of recs is kinda long because I watched a decent amount of anime.
My all-time favs that I neglected all responsibilities to finish the season/catch up on the manga:
Attack on Titan (my favorite ❤️)
The promised neverland (season 1 only)
Blue lock
School live
demon slayer
Haikyuu
Great anime that I also like:
My hero academia
Kanata lost in space
Re:zero
Zombieland saga (my tumblr icon)
Frieren
Erased
vivy fluorite eye’s song
A place further than the universe
Violet evergarden
Slow and boring start to set it all up but it gets amazing towards the middle
Steins gate
Mob pyscho
Funny/wholesome:
One punch man
Spy x family
Romance
Kagaya-sama Love is war
Your name (but this more of an anime movie than an anime series)
Sad/depressing/seriously messed up/dark anime with some sweet moments sprinkled throughout:
Wonder Egg Priority (my ao3 icon is from this anime)
Heavenly Delusion
Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood is also a good anime to watch! I only like the first 25 episodes but most of the anime community agrees Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood is one of the best anime out there.
There's also the older ones like Naruto, Bleach, Gintama (the funniest anime imo 😆) and probably a lot more I'm not remembering. But this is the list off the top of my head.
#thanks for the ask!#I... watch too many anime#and I am so picky#i will judge anime in the first episode and drop it the same episode if it's boring#it doesn't always work out lol because steins gate was soooo boring the first couple episodes#but it needed those episodes to build the rest of the 24 episodes#and I freaking love it now#but yeah#i also love fire force and mieruko-chan#but the anime is ruined by fan service#i cannot deal with excessive fanservice

I just think it’s genuinely mindblowing that every single year everyone always finds a way to make such a fuss about the winner. In 2017 Salvador Sobral only won because people pitied him for his heart problem. In 2018 Cyprus deserved to win instead of Israel. In 2021 Maneskin were drug addicts. In 2022 Ukraine only won because of the war. And now Loreen didn’t deserve to win because her song is unoriginal. And people can’t even be consistent with their complaints- this year originality is the issue while last year no one cared about how original the winner was, last year the televote was political and the jury winner was the real winner while this year the televote is the one who’s right...
I’m not saying you HAVE to like the winner or agree with it. I’m not saying you aren’t allowed to be upset your favourite didn’t win. I’m not saying you can’t have a different opinion and you just have to smile and nod and take it in- everyone is different, and freedom of speech is fundamental. But I don’t understand why people cannot express their opinion peacefully, while also accepting that hey, this song won, I don’t agree with it but eh I’ll live.
While Loreen was my winner and I am, I won’t hide it, overjoyed she won, I actually agree with all the critiques she’s getting, I have since the beginning. The song is unoriginal, that’s true. Other people deserve to win, that’s true. It’s getting boring with the same countries winning over and over again (even though it’s always happened, just think of Ireland in the 90s, it’s nothing new) and it would be great for a country who’s never won or hasn’t in a while to win, that’s true. It’s fair to bring these points up because they are true (and even if I didn’t consider them to be, it would still be fair- because all opinions are valid). But everything can be done respectfully and calmly without having to turn it into a war. This is not a war. This is not Kaarija stans vs. Loreen stans. We are all Eurovision fans who just want a great and fair contest, and we all have the same passion and the same wish.
Learn to be happy for the winner while also mantaining and supporting your opinion. And most importantly- the winner is not the most important thing. Every year that’s everything everyone talks about. There is other stuff to talk about. Talk about the show. Talk about Greece only giving 4 points to Cyprus (THAT was the real shock of this year lol). The winner is not the most important thing. I think we will be so much happier as a fanbase if we just learn to go “Eh, I’m not happy, whatever” and go on lol.
That said, I want to say something nice about every single top 5 country: Sweden: stunning performance and vocals. Finland: extremely original, something we’d never seen before. Israel: incredibly solid performance with great coreography, camera angles, just flawless. Italy: beautiful vocals, pretty instrumental and nice structure. Norway: really fierce performance, great vocals, good structure, vivid lyrics.

Julia Elizabeth Randall
This portrait of her was taken in 1957
I wanna take the time and introduce you guys to one of my OCs!
Julia Randall was born on April 29, 1924 in her home during a storm in Dodge City, Kansas. She was the 3rd child of Arthur Randall and Constance (neé Bennett). She was the younger sister of Edward and Wallace and the older sister of Margaret. Julia grew up in Dodge City on a farm with her family while her father was a part of the military and fought in war. The farm they grew up in had crop fields and raised cows, horses, chickens, pigs and a rooster. Her mother was a teacher at a nearby school for all white primary school aged students and they had people take care of the farm while the family worked and did school. Julia would always help around the house by cleaning, taking care of the farm animals, help her mother cook and bake, gardening and other chores.
During The Great Depression, the farm went through a crisis with a lack of crops. They also struggled during the dust bowl storms and other issues. Julia started taking interest in music and singing at a young age between 6 and 7 years old and her mother took her to lessons like playing the piano for instance. She did very well in her school years and was an intelligent student. She took her studies seriously. At some point during her educational years, she took interest in drama and choreography and also took lessons.
At the age of 17 in the year 1941, her father passed away during WWII from being severely injured and wounded. After graduation, Randall went to California to study drama and did a modeling job.
A Hollywood director named Frank Haynes saw her modeling work and took interest in her and asked if she would be a part of a movie which would be her first film. Julia agreed and starred in her first film: “The Lady in the Lingerie”, a 1946 film. During the making of the film, she was forced to sleep with Haynes because he thought she was super attractive and was madly in love and obsessed with her. He also made her wear a push-up bra to expose her cleavage more to make her even more seductive. He gave her nicknames on the set such as “Babydoll”, “Tootsie” and “Sweet Thing”. Julia later revealed the truth in an interview and said she was “traumatized and manipulated” by him. She never liked him. Frank was 28 years older than her.
She did several other films including her most famous “Hephaestus” (1953) and “Miss Montgomery” (1957). Julia also had albums for her songs. Her most top hit was “Red Lips, Curvy Hips” which released in 1956. She also started appearing in television shows during the 1960s-90s. Julia also got married to an actor named Harold Donahue in 1948 and had 4 children named Cheryl (1951), Linda (1953), Carl (1956) and Deborah (1959) who were all born during the 50s.
When Julia decided to quit acting at some point during the early 90s, she took a job for teaching drama and choreography classes and taught for only 9 years. During that time, she would get calls for coming to late night shows and daytime shows for interviews and did that until the early 2000s. In 2004 (4 years before her death), she wrote a book about her life “My Life as Julia Randall and an American Actress” and sold over a million copies. She was 80 years old then.
Julia ended up developing breast cancer in 2007 and became very ill in late 2008. On the morning of December 13, 2008 in San Diego, California, Julia passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 84. Her funeral was held in January of 2009 and was buried in a cemetery in the same city she passed away in. Julia was known to be one of the greatest American actresses, singers and dancers during the 20th century and was also known to be a “sex symbol” and was known as “Tall, Wise and Seductive”. She worked with several other famous celebrities during her career.
That’s all I’m gonna put for now. I’ll do facts about her another time and will be posting more of her. Hope you guys like her! 🩷🥰 Julia belongs to me!

Anti-Isr*el-in-Eurovision statement As we're already deep into traditional ESC season, I suppose it's time to make some kind of statement on whether this blog will keep featuring Eurovision content The short answer is "yes but without acknowledging Isr*el's presence in any way", I'll put it here so I'll make it easy to unfollow me, but if you want to hear my take more in depth here we go
I absolutely LOATHE EBU's decision of letting Isr*el compete this year It's a shameful, disgusting, extremely hypocrite move dictated by their hunger for money and I think this has mined their credibility and ruined things for literally everyone, in some ways potentially forever
I have thought about doing a hard boycott for a long time, but in the end I got stuck on one thought: like a great book written by a bad author, Eurovision =/= EBU
Should we let EBU and that country destroy something that has been good and meant so much for so many years? I know the internet doesn't tend to reason like this, but I gravitate towards the no I feel like some of you guys, while well-intentioned, wildly overestimate the effects of a boycott on these people Their main sponsor is a company from that state, they need that dirty money, so it's not like they'll see their audience go down by a handful of people and drop everything next year It's safe to say the problem is here to stay, and the army of Isr*elbots is only happy to see you drop the toy so they can pick it up and use it as platform for their propaganda For now, I prefer staying and making it as hard to enjoy and to spew bs as possible for those who should not be there
I appreciate seeing protests against the EBU and I hope we see more during ESC week, but I absolutely do not agree with harassing or boycotting the non-Isr*el-affiliated artists, because I simply will NOT ask people to cut their own wings because of a war they have zero responsibility in
So, while this will keep being a mostly Eurovision-themed blog, you will see ZERO mention of the state's illegitimate participation, you won't see their participant's name or their song title feature anywhere, you won't see pictures or gifs that include them in any way I haven't listened to the song nor will I ever do so, and when I'll share my top it won't be included in it I reduced to the minimum the views and engagement I give EBU's channels in general and when I listen to the songs I do so directly from the artists' source
''Find a new hobby!'' Does not wanting to let it go make me bad? Maybe. But letting them colonize and take away just one more thing will not make me good, either
'You're as bad as those unaliving children!'' Yeah, no.
''What about Azerbaijan??'' Oh believe me, they could kick Azerbaijan too for all I care at the moment, I have never been a fan of the ''the more the merrier'' saying, I'm more of a ''few but good'' kinda gal This is pretty much it Any hate or insult I may get for this will be stubbornly ignored

How can the essays of George Orwell be used to develop critical thinking about current events and issues?
COMMENTARY:
You can begin with the opening sentence: “The clock struck 13” is like the opening sentence of “The Love song of J. Alfred Prufrock:
“Let us go then, you and I, When the evening is spread out against the sky Like a patient etherized upon a table”
In terms of your experience of the narrative of 1984, the first sentence of 1984 is like the door in Revelation 4.2 and the mirror in “Through the Looking Glass”. If read that line and close your eyes, maybe spark a doobie and play the opening theme of “Twilight Zone”, defines the phenomenal reality of the narrative.
What you just read is an example of literary analysis as performance art.
If you go through 1984, you will find a trail of these cultural artifacts of the characters in the novel, like bread crumbs, leading your forward. Dagny Taggart has a similar role in Atlas Shrugged, dragging you by your dick, forward, into the inevitable submission to the superior intellect of John Galt, who talks the same shit as the Unibomber’s manifesto. With Dagny, who leaves a lingering bouquet of Chanel no. 5 and sex, she is the bait in Ayn Rand’s Venus Fly Trap.
The conceit in English letters is to conceive a narrative as compelling as scripture using different literary mechanisms
And, when it comes to critical thinking, Hegel comes in handy for his mathematical clarity and simplicity. Especially when you include the 4th law of logic in your outline.
Prufrock is setting out for the clubs in Top Hat and Tails, as one does. The cultural perspective defines The Great Gatsby. This is what was referred to as “The Swells” in the America of “It’s a Wonderful Life” Only, J. Alfred is an American in Oxford. You can hear the twang of James Whitcomb Riley in The Hollow Men, but T.S. Eliot is channeling the young Prince Edward, getting ready to Top Cat his way around The Strand.
Hegel and Kant make it easy and fun to do. And, as a commercial process, a capitalist tool. If you are invested in “originalism” of the Barr Decision, Kant anticipates George Washington as a Deist and Hegel reflects von Steubin’’s influence on the Just War Doctrine of the US Army War College and the command and organizational processes of the Command and General Staff College and US Army Ranger School. Ayn Rand and Robert Heinlein shared the first Prometheus Award in their particular category, the difference being that Robert Heinlein’s version of the future is informed by Kant and Hegel and captured by Starship Troopers as they tie into Arthur Clarke’s 2001: A Space Odyssey, while Ayn Rand, like Newt Gingrich, trying to re-write the Bolshevik Revolution. Like Major Trainwreck Greene, the Whites would have won if she had been in charge.
I’m an Army brat. The idea of the clock striking 13 would have happened on Armed Forces Network in Germany in 1956, when Newt Gingrich and I were stationed in Stuttgart at the same time. Just after Sputnik. Sputnik totally freaked the Army community out. There were still a lot of POWs from the Philippines in the Army community as a particular point of price of service. They’d been there, done that after Pearl Harbor and the entire community shuddered.
The US Army community is a socialist society by constitutional necessity, so the socialism of the novel seemed familiar. I was too young to understand the betrayal: that would happen for me in Vietnam. But from my experience, socialism is nurturing and enabling and encouraging one to be all one could be.
I’ve had many meetings at 1300 hours ever since i lived in Germany. In 1956, the US Army community was prepared to snatch the women and children back to the states in 24 hours during the Hungarian Revolution. So, the idea that there was a war going on just over the horizon, which informs 1984, was a fact of my life.
I understood perfectly the evil George Orwell was getting at and I agreed with him. An important role that Critical Race Theory is how damaging evil is and how to fix the damage and renew the culture using capitalism.
You can do exactly the same thing with Atlas Shrugged as 1984. George Orwell was trying to warn the world about people who thought like Ayn Rand and William F. Buckley. Ayn Rand and William F. Buckley are exactly like the unfaithful servants in the Parable of the Vineyard. 1984 is about a country run by people like Ayn Rand and William F. Buckley. There is an actual, real time, connection between William F. Buckley’s campus marketing strategy for the 1960 agenda of the John Birch Society, the January 6 Conspiracy and the vast right wing conspiracy Hillary Clinton correctly identified in February 1993 that would drive Vince Foster to suicide,
Who is John Galt? Ayn Rand’s essential model of class room instruction is to beat you into submission and that was the first of 500 pages of similar abuse. John Galt is a perfect metaphor for William F. Buckley’s political objectives consistent with the John Birch Society in that they are so loathsome that they can vever be successful in polite society, much less the rational self-interests of Biden votes. John Galt has to do all his politics from subversion, sedition, sabotage and constitutional deconstruction.
George Orwell was waning America about the potential for the January 6 lynch mob to erupt into view and blow up America. Beginning at 1300 hours on January 6, 2021.
It’s critical thinking, every step of the way.

During a winter hiatus from the Edge, Hiccup goes off exploring the icy wastes. He finds more than he bargained for when a witch attempts to steal his soul. Now an emotionless husk, Hiccup must depend on Astrid and Gothi to delve deep within him and unlock the aspects of his personality he’d rather keep hidden.
Meanwhile, the rest of the riders test Hiccup on how emotionless he really is.
I guess I was really excited about this fic, considering I did a cover for it! It’s good to dip back into the How to Train Your Dragon fandom!
You can read Down to the Soul here!

You know what? Can we all just agree to stop pointing out spelling and grammar mistakes in fanfics unless the author asks for it? It’s so heartbreaking to see on the top of every fic “not beta read so please excuse the errors!” Like of course sis. Not everyone has time or resources to get a beta. Reading FanFiction is not going to the library, it’s opening the files on someone’s computer.
Keep your comments about the story and not the writing technique.

Can we talk about Return to Neverland, the Peter Pan sequel made in the early 2000’s?
I love this movie, and I feel like it’s slept on. I don’t remember if it was in theaters, but it should have been. It’s got amazing animation, some good songs, and the story and story boarding are incredible.
It’s the story of Jane, Wendy’s daughter (yeah yeah sequel trope but hang with me it’s a really good reason). Remember what Time Period Wendy was growing up? Turn of the century? When do you think her children would be growing up? If you said World War II, good job!
The movie starts with Jane’s father being drafted into the war. He tells Jane she has to be a big girl and take care of her mother and little brother. It’s also established that Wendy tells her kids all about Peter Pan and they love it.
Two years later, dad’s still gone. Jane has put childhood behind her and is listening to the radio to find any way to help the soldiers. There’s a scene where she goes out to buy her little brother a birthday present, a pair of socks, and London is being bombed while she’s out. She’s wearing a helmet while she crawls through rumble and debris while sirens and bombs shake the landscape.
She gets in an argument with Wendy when she returns to the bomb shelter. Wendy is telling the little brother, Daniel, Peter Pan stories and Jane tells her to stop filling his head with nonsense. Wendy then drops her own bomb and tells Jane that her and her brother are being sent to the countryside in the morning, and she asks Jane to tell Daniel stories, because he needs it. Jane is upset because she promised she would help take care of her family.
That night, she falls asleep on her window seat. The same window to the same nursery as all those years ago.
Suddenly, there’s a ship on the roof, a pirate ship, that a certain fairy made fly in a previous film. Jane is kidnapped by Captain Hook and taken to Neverland as bait for Peter Pan. But this is no fun adventure for Jane. It’s a nuisance, a distraction, and nonsense. She needs to get home, by any way possible.
I’ll stop describing the plot there because I don’t want to spoil it. It’s genuinely a great movie and makes me cry every time I watch it. Disney went hard on it and I don’t think it gets the notoriety it deserves.

I can’t sleep so I’m going to rant.
The ending of Pirates of the Caribbean 3 makes me so mad. Yeah, someone had to take the place of Davy Jones and since Will dies, it makes sense that it’s him. I have no complaints there.
What pisses me off is how Will and Elizabeth follow the rules literally and are separated for ten years. So Will can only come on land one day every ten years…ELIZABETH CAN GO ON THE SHIP WHENEVER! Why stay away for ten years?? Why doesn’t she join the crew!? Will joined earlier in the movie and he was fine! Or, if he wanted her to have a normal life and intermingle with people, he could come to visit on the weekends, and she could row out to be with him on the ship. Or she could just go on short journeys with the Flying Dutchmen. The organ room on the boat looks like they’d have a nice captain’s quarters to sleep in so they don’t have to do it on the beach every time!!
Look for loopholes, people!!
If you can’t tell, I’ve thought about this a lot since that movie came out however long ago.

Newt Gingrich is convinced Biden wants Harris to lose, and he thinks he knows why…......
2024 is shaping up to be one of the most bizarre elections we’ve ever seen. From Biden being ousted in a “soft coup” by his own party, to President Trump teaming up with RFK Jr. and Elon Musk, and Kamala Harris basically hijacking her precious “democracy” to try to steal the White House—it’s been a wild ride. But one of the most interesting aspects of this campaign has been Joe Biden’s reaction to it all. It’s starting to look like Biden is actively sabotaging Kamala Harris. I mean, he actually put on a MAGA hat the day after Kamala’s debate with President Trump. Then he stood in front of the White House press corps and said he and Harris were “singing from the same song sheet” at a time when Team Harris was desperately trying to distance themselves from Biden’s—and Kamala’sfailures.
And if that wasn’t enough, while Kamala was trying to score political points by attacking Governor DeSantis during Hurricane Milton, Biden was praising the Florida Governor. So what’s really going on? Well, Newt Gingrich thinks he knows. He believes Joe and Jill have teamed up to undercut Harris—and he thinks he knows exactly why.
2WAY:
“We’re in the early stages of watching her collapse,” says @newtgingrich of Kamala Harris. “It’s just my hunch …. that sometime in the last two weeks, Joe and Jill looked at each other and thought, you know, wouldn’t it be a great legacy if Joe’s the only guy ever to beat Trump? And I think the stuff he’s done to undermine her in the last ten days is pretty amazing.”
Hey Newt, we agree and also believe Joe is out to sabotage Ms. Harris, too. As a matter of fact, we’ve been covering this story from all angles.
Revolver:
But it goes way beyond just a dislike of Kamala Harris. So, we went on the hunt for a theory about the hat that goes a bit deeper, and we happened upon a good one that really seems to have a ring of truth to it. It’s about mass revenge for the old guy. Let’s face it, Joe might be a mental midget suffering from senility, but he still has enough political savvy to know exactly what he’s doing for the 2024 election. This wasn’t a mistake. As Julie Kelly so artfully put it, Joe’s on a mission to prove that all the coup operators who tossed him aside like yesterday’s trash were dead wrong. That’s Joe’s top priority right now, and that Trump 2024 hat symbolized it perfectly.
That theory lines up pretty well with Newt’s. After all, despite Biden’s senility, he’s still a career politician, and his pettiness practically runs on autopilot at this point.
And, in what might be the most fitting label ever pinned on a politician, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich called Kamala Harris the “first doofus nominated for president”—though, to be fair, she wasn’t actually “nominated,” was she? Not technically, anyway.
Here’s the exchange between Newt and Sean Hannity:
SEAN HANNITY: What’s your analysis? NEWT GINGRICH: Well, look, she has three really big problems. First, she’s just not very competent. I mean, you’re watching somebody who ought to be, like, in a high school play, and she’s on the national TV as a candidate. She just can’t move at the speed and with the knowledge you expect. Second, we’re in a world that’s dangerous. It’s dangerous with hurricanes. It’s dangerous with the war in the Middle East. It’s dangerous in Ukraine. It’s dangerous with Venezuelan criminal gangs coming to the U.S. And that kind of a dangerous environment, people want someone strong. I thought DeSantis, for example, if you compare his press conference with her normal experience, DeSantis looks like he’s competent. He looks like he knows what he’s doing. And so her very being hurts her. And then third, she has this huge crisis. Everything her base believes in, the country hates. And so she has to be for men, for example, competing with women. The country’s totally opposed to that. She can’t be for school choice. The teachers’ unions won’t let her. And you go to a whole series of issues. So she does this dance because if she’s really clear, one of two things will happen. The country will wipe her out or her base will rebel. And so she can never be honest about who she is. Those three things are all coming together in what I think is maybe the most disastrous TV series ever done by a presidential candidate. SEAN HANNITY: If Donald Trump would just say in every appearance that maybe some of you don’t like me, but I will secure the border, I will fix the economy, and I will make the world safer, I think that would resonate. Am I wrong? NEWT GINGRICH: No, you’re right, but he didn’t have to say the first part. I mean, just relax. The country is going to make a decision. You know, they’re not asking him to go out on a date. They’re asking him to be commander-in-chief. They’re asking him to be president. They’re asking him to solve problems. The fact that he might not be the guy… Now, personally, I think it would be fun to have him over for an evening, but he might not be the guy that some people want to have over for the evening. But they sure as heck will prefer him keeping them safe to her being just a total… She’s a doofus. I mean, this is the first doofus nominated for president, at least in my lifetime, and that’s the best way to understand it.
Well said, Newt. You haven’t lost your touch or your observational skills, that’s for darn sure.
All joking aside, what Newt said about Biden’s revenge plot and Kamala’s ineptitude is spot-on. We’re seeing the signs of Biden’s vengefulness at every turn. Sure, he might have a raging case of dementia, but that doesn’t change who he is at his core—and you can bet Jill, his number one nursemaid, is right there guiding him on what to say and do. It’s no secret she’s the commanding force in the marriage, and likely in his political career, too. And as for Kamala, it’s clear she’s out of her league. So far out, she’d need Google Maps and a search-and-rescue team to find her way back. Watching Harris and Tampon Tim is like being at an awkward high school play, where you’re just praying for the show to end so you can stop cringing and go home. Speaking of Harris cringe, we’ll leave you with this little gem.

I really hope Closure gets played as a surprise song. Soon. I love it. It's too often disrespected. Mix it with The Great War, and they'll hear the lyrics. I dream of this. They hear the pots and pans and run away as if its not a beautiful combination of the vibes of Out Of The Woods (not to mention I think The Great War has pots and pans as well they're just, subtle. Also nuanced conversation of Pots and Pans Are Just The Origin Of Percussion but I digress.)
Last year tayvoodoo worked to get me I Know Places and King Of My Heart. I made a playlist with only them and all the songs Taylor was trying to push and only listened to that for like a month, titled it asking her to play them. Then she played them both on the same night. My top two songs. That I truly was worried she would not play. (I do not believe this is Why she played them but I take the wins where they are)
Now I must look out for the rest of my top 10. 5 of which have not been sung as surprise songs. I am the most worried about closure. Happiness is for sure coming, as well as Glitch. I Did Something Bad will be here when Rep TV is. Hoax... we shall see what happens but it feels like a soon-to-be mashup.
I love Closure. Pls don't leave it in the unplayed pile there's basically a year of tour left so just, at some point. pls. My cats agree.

1, 3, 4, 7, 10, 21, 22, 26, 28, 31, 33, 16, 38, 39 & 40 for the writing ask you reblogged on your main account (I have this one up all the time, not your main, so thptt)!
:P to you too.
Which of your fics would you keep the basic plot of but rewrite completely?
The fics that are sequels to The Incubus in the Hallway. I ... was so bad at plotting them, frankly. The basics are fine but I could definitely have written them better.
3. How would you describe your writing style?
Very good beige prose.
4. Do you have any OCs? Do you have a story for them?
Another :P for making me list them, you know I have several now.
Emilia Alexander -- healer-in-training OFC that I wrote so Defender Strange wouldn't be alone.
Evie Strange -- OG Stephen's adopted telepathic daughter
Alina Ennynore -- geologist OFC I made for Smaug
Leland Arnold -- earl OMC I made for Mary Bennet
Thurston Caldwell -- marquess OMC I made for Caroline Bingley
Gabe Bromley -- war hero (canon era) or architect (modern era) OMC I made for Kitty Bennet
There are a couple more one-off OFCs.
7. Your favorite ao3 tag.
Older Man/Younger Woman
10. Top three favorite fic tropes.
Older Man/Younger Woman
Domestic Bliss
Idiots to lovers
21. Can you accurately predict how long your fics are going to be? If you can, what's your secret?
The best I can do is predict whether it's a one-shot or a multi-chap, and even then, I'm wrong quite a bit.
22. What is it about watching the same two idiots falling in love over and over again?
We already know the destination so it's definitely the journey. :)
26. What would you describe as OOC?
Someone acting like they never did/do in canon WITHOUT GOOD REASON.
28. Any writing advice that works for you and you feel like sharing?
To be honest, the only writing "advice" that works for me ... ignore all writing "advice" you don't agree with. Stephen King doesn't like adverbs? Good for him, I don't care.
31. What was the most difficult fic for you to write (but in the end you made it)?
My most difficult FINISHED fic? Off the top of my head, There's Something About Penelope. I don't consider myself a smut writer -- I'm a fluff writer who dabbles in smut. This fic has a healthy amount of it and those scenes were not easy.
33. Give your writing a compliment.
I'm great at feels. :)
16. Are one-shots really underrated?
Dear God, yes! Especially if they're under 5K. Please, people, read more short fics. If I can skewer a reader's heart with just 41 words (45 if you count the title), think of how much of an emotional impact I can make with 10x or even 100x that many.
36. How do you come up with fic titles? What's the one you're most proud of?
Oh lord. 99% of the time, the title and summary are the LAST things I think of before I post a fic. If it's a songfic, I'll probably just use the song's title (or one of the other lyrics). Once in a great while, I'll think of the title as I'm writing a fic. I don't think I have a fic title I'm most proud of, but I'm attached to The Incubus In The Hallway since it comes from a line in the fic.
39. Wildest AU scenario you have written?
I have several but I'm going with Steve Rogers is a 730-year-old member of the Knights Templar.
40. Write a 9-word fic.
Oh, fuck that! Ugh, fine...
Brynden wordlessly threw the unwanted ring into the bay.
